Service Groups

ALTAR GUILD
Teams of two, serving 4 times a year, are responsible for preparing the altar and front area of the church for worship. They also meet 3 times a year to plan for the holiday seasons.

BEREAVEMENT MEALS 
At the time of a congregation member's death, a meal is offered for family and close friends. Meal teams are called upon to purchase, prepare and serve the meal, averaging once or twice a year.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY - KIDNATION 
Be blessed by teaching or helping in our Sunday School for children Pre-School - 5th grade. We use a Christ-centered curriculum and have a support team ready to help you.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY - CARAWAY STREET
Puppets and characters are used to teach Bible truths to children from 3 years to 4th grade. Two crews, each performing once a month, make up this exciting team.

CHOIR/INSTRUMENTALISTS/WORSHIP TEAMS
Share your musical talent with the congregation by participating in the Adult Choir, Praise Band or Orchestra weekly or on special occasions.

CHURCH READINESS TEAM 
Teams of two meet once a week to ready the inside of the church for worship by sharpening pencils, refilling the pew pockets, and checking the pews for cleanliness and order.

COUNTING TEAM 
This group meets Monday mornings to count weekly contributions and prepare them for deposit.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS GREETING TEAM 
The goal of this team is to ensure that our guests enter into a Christian community that is friendly and hospitable. The First Impressions team greets and gives our guests a small gift. Team members serve one worship service per month.

FOOD PANTRY 
In addition to our regular collection of food for the Spring Branch Food Pantry, we hope to supply this community ministry with St. Mark volunteers who will help in actual food distribution.

GIFT SHOP
All profits from sales are directed back into the various ministries at St. Mark such as supporting world missions and our seminary students or contributing to scholarship funds for the school. Volunteer to staff the shop at your convenience.

JUNIOR HIGH MINISTRY 
Our young people are outstanding, and we are seeking caring adults to build relationships with them in assorted roles. Time commitments are varied and flexible - don't miss the opportunity to impact the lives and eternity of young people.

LUNCH BUNCH 
Volunteer lunch servers and cashiers are an essential part of the school lunch program. Serving time is 10:45 am to 12:30 pm. Lunch for our Lunch Bunch is provided as a "thank you!"

NURSING HOME MINISTRY 
This group visits area nursing homes each Wednesday afternoon, assisting and befriending elderly people as they gather for a simple worship service

OFFICE HELP 
Volunteers assist the church or school office in a variety of needed tasks such as copying, assembling worship folders, and filing. No experience is necessary - training is provided!

PEANUT BUTTER BRIGADE
One Sunday morning per month, St. Mark friends gather to assemble sack lunches to deliver to those less-fortunate at Turning Point Center. You can help by donating travel-size toiletry items and bottled water. Leave them at the Welcome Center, marked for "Peanut Butter Brigade."

This confidential care ministry offers training for people who wish to offer one-on-one care for those who are experiencing difficult circumstances.

The Tech Team operates ProPresenter, lights and sound to ensure the worship service runs smoothly. This important ministry gives you a chance to serve while you worship.

USHERS 
Friendly people are always needed to greet people as they enter for worship, distribute bulletins and collect the offering. This is an effective way to become familiar with other worshipers.
