As the Director of Discipleship, Julie coordinates the Bible Studies and Small Groups at St. Mark. Her passion is to involve people at St. Mark and throughout our community to be actively involved in growing in our faithwalk. Julie also works closely with our school ministry to reach out to our families and provide Spiritual growth and fellowship opportunities for the families of our school. Julie is a graduate of Concordia University - Chicago. She is married to Bob, our school principal. They have three children: Megan and son-in-law Mike Phelps, Nathan, and Jared.

Susan worked as a structural engineer in the offshore industry before becoming involved in Church Business Administration. She is a certified CBA and has served for the past 17 years in a few different churches before joining the St. Mark family.

Susan joined the St. Mark team in 1994 working part time in the Early Childhood Department. She has worked in various areas of the Church office for the past 15 years. She and her husband Thomas have 3 children, Brian, Rachel and Matthew. Susan and Tom are active members of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Pastor Duerr loves people. He loves to visit with, get to know and have the opportunity to interact with the wonderful people of St. Mark and Houston Texas. Though he's from California, the St. Mark members don't seem to hold that against him. Pastor Duerr is an avid Anaheim Angels baseball fan. He is married to his beautiful wife, Becky, who is a Speech Language Pathologist.

Heather joined the staff in 2009, utilizing her degree in Graphic Design from Concordia University, Nebraska. She and her husband have a beautiful daughter and enjoy watching her grow and learn new things. Heather is a true Cornhusker at heart, but loves the warm Texas weather!

Julie is responsible for the monthly financial reporting to the church and school and well as all other financial reporting requirements. She graduated from Texas A&M University in 1989 with a BBA in Accounting and Finance. She has worked in public accounting and non-profit accounting before she came to work at St. Mark.

Pastor Scott joined the St. Mark family as Senior Pastor in 2006. He and his wife Jennifer have 2 boys, Daniel and Benjamin.

John Marrs has a Bachelor of Music degree from the internationally renowned Berklee College of Music and a Master of Church Music degree from Concordia University, WI, where he also served for 10 years as a member of the music faculty. John is a composer of music for the church and also for TV and radio. His music has been published by Concordia Publishing House and has been heard on such programs as American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, ABC's World News Tonight and countless others.

Susan joined St. Mark in 1996 as a school secretary. She has been reassigned to the church office and currently assists the Pastors. Susan has two girls, Hollie and Kathleen.
