5/19/2013 It's Not Over. You Are Needed.

As we look through the lens of history at events that happened over 2,000 years ago. History is only as good as what we can learn from it. So, what can we learn from our forefathers in the faith? Why were there so many miracles? Why aren’t there as many today? How should we as a church, both St. Mark and as individuals who make up the church, live as “Fully-Devoted Disciples of Christ” today?

5/5/2013 Testing Awaits

God’s calls each of us to follow Him, whenever, wherever, and however He deems. This is not only uncomfortable, it can be downright terrifying and dangerous! In fact, the Lord does not always promise that we will be “safe.” He promises, instead, that He will be with us. Lest we worry, we must always remember the words of our Lord Jesus, “In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

3/31/2013 Come to the Feast

Amos peers into the future and sees a rebuilt Davidic dynasty. Isaiah speaks about a shoot from Jesse’s stump (Isaiah 11:1), while Jeremiah sees a new David who is “a righteous Branch” (Jeremiah 23:6). These promises and predictions come to fruition when Jesus, who is from the house and lineage of David, rose again from the dead and conquered sin and the grave, for us!

3/24/2013 The Real King of the Jungle

On this Palm Sunday, we celebrate the Savior sent for us all. We celebrate the Lamb of God and the reign of the King of Kings. We sing; “Hosanna in the Highest!” with the people of Jesus’ day because we know that this Savior riding on a colt rides victoriously for you and me today.

3/17/2013 Brand New Thing

close your eyes and think about the blessings that God has given to you today. All too often we focus on the negative in our lives, but here God reminds us that we have been made stewards of His abundantly good gifts in our lives. The best news for us is that these gifts are free! More than that, they are to be expected in the life of His disciples.
